Does Reddit Ads make sense for B2B in 2026?
Reddit is where a meaningful share of B2B buyers now research, and where AI search goes to find answers, but the ad-performance data to prove ROI is not yet public. Everything here comes from published sources: I've never worked at Reddit or run campaigns on its ad platform, so I have no first-hand numbers to add. The picture is lopsided, with strong audience and behavior data on one side and no ad benchmarks on the other, and the missing half gets as much space here as the rest.
What puts Reddit on the B2B map in 2026 has little to do with how mature its ad platform is. Buyers trust peer discussion more than vendor messaging, and large language models have made Reddit one of the most-cited sources on the web; both trends are documented below, and together they make the real case for paying attention.
The Reddit Ads offer itself is on the Reddit Ads service page. Below is the published evidence behind it, with its gaps marked.
How many B2B buyers are actually on Reddit?
Reddit's audience is large and still growing fast, and its ad business is growing faster. Reddit's Q2 2026 earnings release (30 July 2026) reports 130.3 million daily active uniques, up 18% year over year, and 514.6 million weekly active uniques, up 24%.
Commercially, the advertising trajectory matters most, so the table sets it next to the audience figure.
| Metric (Reddit official) | Q2 2025 | Q2 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Daily active uniques | 110.4M | 130.3M |
| Ad revenue | $465M (+84% YoY) | $762M (+64% YoY) |
| Global ARPU | $4.53 | $6.18 |

Ad revenue grew 64% year over year in Q2 2026, which is strong but slower than the 84% of a year earlier: the platform is scaling off a larger base rather than accelerating. For a B2B advertiser the point still holds, since the audience is large and expanding, even though none of these numbers separate business from consumer use.
Do B2B buyers really use Reddit to research?
Yes, and software buyers more than most. The clearest evidence is The Hidden B2B Journey (10 March 2026), a Reddit survey run with SurveyMonkey among 1,202 US business decision-makers between 23 December 2025 and 7 January 2026: 23% of them have used Reddit for research, and among software buyers the figure is 32%.
When you're judging whether your category fits, the reasons they give tell you more than the headline share.
| Reason B2B buyers use Reddit | Share |
|---|---|
| Reviews and testimonials | 77% |
| Pricing | 45% |
| Product capabilities | 42% |
| Compatibility or integrations | 36% |
Source: Reddit and SurveyMonkey, The Hidden B2B Journey, 10 March 2026.
People come to Reddit for peer opinion that nobody has filtered, and reviews lead by a wide margin, ahead of real-world pricing and whether a product integrates with the rest of their stack. That's bottom-of-funnel research rather than idle browsing. If you sell software, about a third of the software buyers surveyed say they have used Reddit for research, which is reason enough to be present there whether or not you run ads.
Why does Reddit matter for AI search in 2026?
Reddit is now one of the most-cited domains in AI-generated answers, which changes what a Reddit presence is worth. Analysis from Profound (10 November 2025) found Reddit to be the most-cited domain across answer engines, at 3.11% of all citations, ranking first in Perplexity and second in ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, and Grok. A separate study covering 30 million sources, reported by Search Engine Land (31 March 2026), also ranked Reddit the most-cited domain in AI answers.
When a B2B buyer asks ChatGPT or Perplexity for the best tool in your category, the answer may draw partly on Reddit threads. So a presence in the relevant subreddits works twice, at the research stage and in AI answers, because the discussion happening there feeds the models buyers increasingly consult. I'd count that among the stronger arguments for Reddit in 2026, sometimes more decisive than the ad offering itself, and one of the rare cases where community presence and AI citation can reinforce each other.
What do Reddit Ads cost, and what don't we know?
On a general CPM basis Reddit ads are cheap, but no public benchmark segments those costs for B2B. The best public estimate comes from WordStream (updated 28 July 2025), which puts general Reddit CPMs in the range of $0.50 to $15 with a minimum daily spend of $5. Those are third-party aggregator estimates rather than figures Reddit publishes, and they aren't broken out by industry or by B2B use.
The list of what doesn't exist is longer. No public B2B-specific Reddit benchmark exists for CPM, cost per click, click-through rate, conversion rate, or cost of acquisition, and nobody publishes a Reddit-attributed B2B pipeline or ROI figure you could check. Reddit's official metrics cover total audience and revenue rather than B2B ad performance, and the SurveyMonkey study measures research behavior, not campaign results. Reddit ads are cheap to start, but anyone quoting you a specific B2B ROAS for Reddit is working from data that no public source carries, so test against your own pipeline and treat the result as your benchmark. To size a first test, the B2B ads budget calculator gives a directional estimate by region, industry and objective.
Where does Reddit fit in a B2B stack?
Reddit fits as a research-stage and AI-visibility layer, where presence often matters more than paid reach. The published data points to a specific reading: buyers turn to Reddit for peer validation late in their research, and AI engines cite it heavily, so a sustained presence in the right communities keeps paying off over time. Paid ads can amplify that presence, but they come second.
That places Reddit differently from the rest of the stack. Where LinkedIn creates demand and Google captures it, Reddit is where buyers go to check whether the claims hold up. That check matters because switching is common: Digital Commerce 360 (5 December 2025) puts B2B vendor switching at 58% of recent buyers. On current evidence I wouldn't make Reddit a primary lead channel, or promise a ROAS number no source supports; I'd use it to be present where validation happens and visible to the AI tools that now shape shortlists. The services page sets out how I divide the work across the five platforms. For running Reddit campaigns, our Reddit Ads best practices article sets out what the published sources agree on, including an apparent agency consensus that turns out to rest on a single reproduced claim.
Frequently asked questions
How many people use Reddit in 2026?
Reddit reported 130.3 million daily active uniques and 514.6 million weekly active uniques in Q2 2026, up 18% and 24% year over year (Reddit 2026). It doesn't break these figures out by B2B versus consumer use.
Do B2B buyers use Reddit for research?
Yes. A Reddit survey run with SurveyMonkey found 23% of business decision-makers have used Reddit for research, and 32% of software buyers; reviews (77%) were the main draw, well ahead of pricing (45%) and capabilities (42%) (Reddit and SurveyMonkey 2026).
Why is Reddit important for AI search?
Reddit is the most-cited domain in AI-generated answers, at 3.11% of all citations, ranking first in Perplexity and second in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews (Profound 2025). Buyers who use AI tools are, in part, reading Reddit through them.
What do Reddit Ads cost for B2B?
No public figure is specific to B2B. Third-party estimates put general Reddit CPMs at $0.50 to $15 with a $5 minimum daily spend (WordStream 2025), but Reddit doesn't publish these numbers and nobody segments them for B2B.
Should Reddit be a primary B2B ad channel?
Nothing published so far makes that case. Reddit works best as a research-stage and AI-visibility layer, where organic presence often counts for more than paid reach, alongside a program led by LinkedIn and supported by Google.
