Devoteam

Enterprise digital consulting

Global consulting firm specializing in cloud, cybersecurity and data strategy. Devoteam’s marketing team ran this campaign with Ad’s up Consulting. The audience and budget figures below come from HubSpot’s write-up: they describe the context, not growth the campaign produced.

Campaign context

Share of its social media budget Devoteam put on LinkedIn
90%
Devoteam’s LinkedIn followers at the time of the case study
530K+

Measured results

3x
more LinkedIn Ads leads in 2023 than in 2022 (3,067 leads)

Challenge

Devoteam wanted qualified B2B leads from its TechRadar, a guide to 150 emerging technologies with a cloud-native focus. Its usual campaigns weren’t converting in enough volume.

My role

  • Advised Devoteam’s team as their LinkedIn Account Director; putting 90% of the social media budget on LinkedIn was their own decision
  • Advised on retargeting built from intent signals: webinar attendees, LinkedIn Live viewers, newsletter readers and visitors who spent more than 20 seconds on an offer page
  • Recommended the TechRadar as the lead magnet, with LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms to collect the leads
  • Recommended the LinkedIn Insight Tag for building and analyzing audiences of website visitors

The campaign paired a useful guide with retargeting aimed at people who had already shown intent, and LinkedIn Ads leads tripled year on year. That’s one account’s result, not a guarantee for yours.

LinkedIn Ads · Video ads · Creative strategy

B2B technology platform

Telecom & cloud software

Technology company running LinkedIn Ads campaigns with static images and Lead Gen Forms. The test ran for 8 weeks with budget and targeting held constant, to isolate the effect of the format.

Measured results

2x
engagement rate (video vs static image)
-40%
cost per lead at constant budget
+85%
CTR improvement (same audience)

Challenge

The advertiser was running standard image campaigns on LinkedIn: decent results that had stopped improving, and a format nobody had questioned in months.

My role

  • Analyzed creative performance with the advertiser and flagged image fatigue across audiences
  • Recommended replacing the static images with native video ads
  • Recommended holding targeting and budget steady so the format change could be measured on its own
  • Advised on video length and the opening hook, to fit the way people scroll the LinkedIn feed

In this account the format turned out to be the lever: with targeting and budget unchanged, switching to video improved all three metrics above.

LinkedIn Ads · Multi-market · Localization

Global biotech company

Global biotech / life sciences

Global biotech company running identical LinkedIn Ads campaigns in the US and France, with no adaptation to either market. The localization project ran for 3 months.

Measured results

2.5x
leads in France vs the pre-localization baseline
+60%
engagement rate in France vs the previous period

Challenge

The advertiser used the same creatives and messages in both markets. That approach, transactional and outbound-led, had been built for the US, and it wasn’t landing with the French B2B buyers this account targeted, who were more receptive to storytelling and a long-term view.

My role

  • Analyzed the performance gap between the US and French campaigns with the advertiser
  • Recommended rebuilding the French strategy around storytelling and inbound positioning
  • Advised keeping the US campaigns transactional, with direct outbound CTAs
  • Recommended separate ads (copy and visuals) and landing page flows for each market

On this account, the US audience responded to direct, numbers-led outbound messages and the French audience to a story built on vision and trust. Same platform, but each market needed its own plan.

The figures come from campaigns I worked on at LinkedIn and are the results those campaigns recorded. Where confidentiality applies, names are withheld and some details changed.
